Max smirked as well, gently taking the bottom edges of her shirt, beginning to lift it cautiously. This was mad. He had known Marie for little more than two days, and already they were making-out on his bed. He didn't care; it felt right to be with Marie, to feel her so close to him. He felt alive again when he was with her, something he hadn't felt since April had died. His heart sank for a moment as he began to think of April. What would April think? He tried to push the thoughts of her away, trying to get himself lost in this moment, the present. But he couldn't help but think of April. Was this right? It felt right; but was it truly? He became uncertain of himself, but he didn't stop kissing Marie.

Marie decided that she would let Max play with her shirt. She wanted to play like that to. She ran her hands down his chest, pulling at his shirt so that it showed his skin. She smiled, not even thinking. If she had thought about it, she would be walking around outside or even just sitting here talking, but no. She was making out with a guy she didn't even know all that well. She didn't seem to care though.

Max smirked as he felt her hands on his skin. Another shiver of delight ran down his spine. He suddenly broke their kiss, if only for a second, as he pulled her shirt over her head and off of her body. He threw it to the side, not really caring where it landed. That might have been a little rude, considering that it wasn't his, but manners were tossed out the window when it came to making out. He ran his hands horizontally down her back rather than vertically, resting his hands in the middle of her waist.

Marie started to laugh and she sat up, breaking the kiss. She quickly did the same with his shirt. She carefully removed it and let it fall to the ground. She leaned back down, touching her lips to his again. She ran her soft hands across his chest, leaning to one side as if to say, Roll over.

Max huffed with satisfaction as she took his shirt off and ran her hands along his skin. Oh, how good it felt to be so close to her, skin to skin. Before he turned, he gently ran his fingers toward her bra and unsnapped it, pulling that off of her, as well. He obeyed her almost immeadiately, rolling over gently so he was ontop of her. He made sure he didn't crush her, laying over her lightly as he pressed his lips to her once more.

Marie was suprised when he took off her bra, but she didn't object. She ran her hands up and down his back, issuing a little pressure from her fingers. Her hands moved from his back to his head. She gently pulled on the long strands of black hair.

Max gently put his hands on her cheeks, running his fingers through her long, brown hair. His hands fell onto her neck for a moment before suddenly running down her chest, resting them on her waist lightly.

Marie let out a happy sigh. Her heart was racing and it was full of love. How could she do this, it wasn't like her. She had to stop, but her heart said not to. She would have to make a decision soon, before this went any further. She decided not to saying anything just yet. She put her hands around his neck, moving them to his shoulders. She squeezed them, hard, but not hard enough to hurt him.

Max's hands ran up her bare back, his fingertips gently feathering her soft skin. He was kind of surprised Marie wanted to take it this far; she didn't seem like the kind of girl. He tried not to question it much, though. Maybe it was just one of those things were they weren't always as they seem, or something. It really wasn't any use to wonder about it now. They were, here, now, together. Why bother dissecting all the little details now? It would only raise more questions, and Max didn't need anymore unanswerable questions at the moment.

Marie suddenly broke the kiss, again. She let out a little sigh, looking away from Max. She didn't know what to say, but she had to say something. Her mind was spinning, trying to think of thoughts. She couldn't think though. She looked back at Max, her eyes filled with love, but sadness. She knew she couldn't do this, she knew she wasn't supposed to do this. But it felt right to her. She gave Max a faint smile, giving him a hug. Just say you can't do this. She thought to herself. She still didn't say anything though.

Max opened his eyes suddenly as he felt her lips pull away from his, looking alarmed for a moment. He hadn't expected her to break from him so suddenly. Maybe he should have; they couldn't have gone any further than that, anyway, even if they wanted to or no matter how right it felt. It was too much too soon. Plus, it might get them into some kind of trouble if someone walked in or saw or heard or.. something. He sat up a little bit, his jaw dropping as he stared at Marie, his eyes concerned for her. His breathing was heavy and quick, though it began to grow calm slowly. Max gently wrapped his arms around her as she hugged him, hugging her back. He was unsure what to say to her... oh, how he wished he could tell what she was thinking.

Marie slowly closed her eyes. She was silent though. A single tear fell down her cheek and she stopped it with her fingers. She didn't want Max to know she was crying. There was no reason for it, or was there? She had no clue at this point. She slowly turned over onto her stomach, kind of pushing Max off of her. She looked around the room for her shirt and bra. She sighed, laying there. Thinking. Thinking of what just happened, what she had done, what her parents would say, what her friends would say, the thoughts were endless. She closed her eyes once again. Her mouth opened slowly and she tried to say something, but nothing came out.

Max held her close to him, closing his eyes tightly as well. Oh God... what have I done now? His stomach churned as he snapped back into reality, into what was going on. He gently let go of Marie as she turned. He stood up, staring at her, watching her. Suddenly, he no longer felt so confident. He sat down beside her, taking her hand, his eyes pleading. "I'm sorry, Marie. I shouldn't have -- I didn't think -- I just..." His voice tapered off. He suddenly became very uncertain of himself. Maybe should have put a little bit more thought before he acted. Now he'd really gone and screwed things up.
He began to question himself, his motives, his reasoning. His heart sank. Did he truly act because of Marie, or because of his feelings for April? Was this some kind of sick, twisted plea for deeper human interaction, or did he really have feelings or Marie? Could he let go and forget about April, what she meant to him, all that she was, all that she still is, so easily?
"I'm sorry, Marie. I don't know what I was thinking -- I, I wasn't thinking. I just.." He hesitated again, his lips quivering. He shook his head. He wasn't sure what to think. He couldn't get his mind straight. He stood up suddenly, letting go of Marie's hand, looking frantic. His heart raced. "I.. I just don't know." He stood there, mouth agape, scanning the ground in front of him. His breathing once more grew quick with panic and uncertainty. He turned his head toward Marie's direction, but didn't look directly at her. He couldn't. He couldn't bare to make eye-contact with her.
Sure, he had enjoyed being so close to Marie, but it wasn't all about pleasure. He shouldn't have jumped into something like this so suddenly, it was mad. It was stupid. Even if he did like Marie, he only knew her for little more than two days. What the heck was I thinking? He asked himself over and over again, but he got the same answer every time. He wasn't thinking.

Marie shook her head. It wasn't Max's fault, if she didn't want to, then she wouldn't have. She turned her head at looked at him. He looked, frantic, scared, confused, and all sorts of bad things. She didn't mean to cause all of that for him.
It wasn't him it was her. There was that famous line. She rarely had to use it, but this time it was true. She held his hand tight as he sat down next to her. "It's not your fault, don't apoligize unless you mean it." She said quietly, but firmly. She wanted to know what he was thinking, her mind started to think about the posiblities, but she snapped back into reality when Max let go of her hand and stood up. Her eyes saddened with grief and sorrow. How could I have let this happen? She asked herself. She shouldn't have stopped, she didn't want to stop, but she felt like she had to.

Max's breathing grew slower for a moment as he tried to calm himself down. Alright. Relax. This wasn't that big of a deal. Your losing your mind. You're blowing this out of proportion. He sighed softly. He did enjoy being so close to Marie, it felt right, and yet, somehow, something felt wrong, or off, or something. He didn't want to screw this up with her. He ran his fingers through his hair, pushing it away from his face as he bite his lip anxiously. He sat down again beside Marie, looking down. "I don't want to screw this up, Marie." He said, his voice low and hushed, in that of a whisper. His green eyes remained locked on the ground, deep in thought. The majority of his life had been messed up, and he even blamed himself for some of it. He at least wanted to get one thing right. But then, what was 'this'? Their future? Their relationship? Their friendship? The questions and doubt kept coming, and Max had few answers to satisfy.
